With everything that has been going on lately I decided it was time for a vacation. I decided to take week and a half off to visit friends in Asia and Europe and make a tour of the whole thing. Pictures are coming soon and the trip is going well thus far. I’ve spent quite a bit of time on airplanes to get here but its been worth it! I particularly was looking forward to going to the Formula 1 Malaysian Grand Prix and meeting my friend Alma for the first time there. I’m also looking forward to catching back up with Sani, Jeng, and King to perhaps visit the WON disco in Graz, Austria. We kicked it hard last time – lol ๐Ÿ™‚

Amsterdam was quite interesting and I’d like to spend some more time there perhaps taking in a disco as there are definitely some beautiful women there. It was pretty easy to catch the train out of airport to the city centre and explore. I also saw some interesting clothing and shoes that weren’t as common back home such as the Ferrari and GoodYear logo’d Pumas. The flight to Amsterdam is about 8 hours from Detroit and then I had a 12+ hour layover there until I caught a 12 hour flight to Singapore. 12 hours is a long time to be in the air but you have plenty of space even in economy to stretch your legs and with some good planning you can keep yourself occupied when not asleep.

Petronas Towers

In case your wondering, English is widely spoken in both Singapore and Malaysia although it’s not the native tongue. Language wasn’t an issue at all but it took a little bit before I could find an ATM to get some Malaysian Ringgits out of! My hotel here in Kuala Lumpur is right outside the Petronas Towers, the 2nd tallest buildings in the world only beat out by about 50 meters. If you ever saw the movie Entrapment with Sean Connery, the towers were featured in it. There’s a nice mall in between the two towers called the KLCC which is attached to park and the convention center.

European Road Trip

I don’t have the time right now to capture all of my thoughts from this weekend’s road trip through Austria, but will fill everyone in in a day or so. In the meantime, here’s a TON of pictures for you to check out. (A high speed connection is recommended or a lot of patience…) ๐Ÿ˜‰

Leaving…..On a Jet Plane

Well I’m almost there… Having flown across the Atlantic ocean for the first time has been cool thus far but I don’t really have anything too exciting to report. I’m feeling a little bit ashamed because I’m noticing lately that the meals on the airplanes are something I look forward too and better than my own *laughing* ๐Ÿ™‚

For those of you I haven’t leaked the the latest and greatest news to yet, I have expanded my work travels to into Eastern Europe now to take on some new challenges at least temporarily. Of course the wife and kids weren’t happy about me being so far from home…wait a sec… I don’t have either of those at the crib *scratching my head (and that means the one on my shoulders ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) I must have been thinking of my brother who has stepped into shoes I once tried on. Congratulations to him on his recent engagement and I’m happy for him and my future sister-in-law.

The family experienced a little bit of irony late last week. When my sister was 16 she decided to see how well she could drive and ended up learning that her driving skills sucked after driving my dad’s new car into the house into my parent’s bedroom. Yes we still tell that story to this day and no one has forgotten ๐Ÿ™‚ After my sister finally moved into her new home last week and was getting settled a car just happened to drive itself down the street unattended crashing into the house and parking itself in the living room! Fortunately in both cases no one was hurt so we are all happy about that – thank God truly for that…
